MTN foundation on the Monday, 26th December 2022 donated hampers to children on the Christmas day at some selected hospitals in the Savannah region.
The gesture by MTN foundation was distributed across the sixteen regions of Ghana with items comprising blankets, clothing, diapers, shawls, towels, toiletries, among others to children born on 25th December at the selected hospitals.
The donation forms part of the foundations corporate social responsibility carried annually on 26th December of each year at some selected hospitals and health centers.
Fourteen beneficiaries were gifted in the Savannah region including six mothers
from the St Anne’s Catholic hospital in Damongo and eight from the Salaga government hospital.
Mr Matthews Abugbilla, the Channel Development Controller for the Savannah and Northern regions said the MTN Foundation want the child to remember that they are good together and will always be there for one another.
He added that next year, the foundation is hoping to increase its coverage to cover more hospitals as far as their Christmas hamper project is concern.
Mr Mathews Abugbilla called on Ghanaians to remain calm and contribute to the relatively peaceful environment the country enjoys.
“Ghanaians must continue praying for peace and love while enjoying this festivity, we should remember the less-privileged in society and work towards maintaining the peaceful environment and remember those that cannot provide for themselves” he said.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to MTN foundation and prayed for more successful seasons for the foundation, saying “we value the support you have given us, you rock our world. God bless MTN foundation for the kindness and love shown us today’.
