Hon. Lawyer Abu Jinapor the Member of Parliament for Damongo and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources has lauded the Gonja community in Kintampo led by Chief Kanyiti for organising Damba cultural festival programme for the Chiefs and people of Gonja Community in the Bono East region, and called on them to choose peace over violence in all cases.

The law maker also thanked all other ethnic groups for for role executed in being able to coexist all these years without any recorded cases of violence or internal conflicts.

Recently, there was news item that went viral on social media alleging that the Bono East regional minister issued threats to some Gonja chiefs around the area.

Abu Jinapor admitted seeing on social media some commentaries alleged to have been made by the Bono East Regional Minister but was quick to add that the statement attributed to the minister was inaccurate and should be disregarded.

He made a passionate appeal to Gonjalanders in that part of Gonjaland to not choose violence as a way to settling issues because that approach is punishable by law.
