The Member of Parliament (MP) for Damongo Constituency in the Savannah region and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor, has donated a 32-seater bus to the Mole National park for their stuffle services.

The Damongo constituency chairman for NPP Alhaji Adam Braimah in an address explained that, the donation formes part of the MPs commitment to resource the park with the needed logistics to ensure it’s smooth running and indicated that the bus would serve as a means of transportation for the staff of the reserve and the entire community particularly the women who often struggle to get transportation for their weekly routine economic activities at the Damongo market.

He added that the gesture is among numerous things being done by the Member of Parliament since he assumed office and a fulfillment of a promise made to them especially the women by Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor prior to the 2020 elections.

The Park Manager, Mr Ali Mahama who received the bus on behalf of the staff and people of Mole national park, commended the Damongo MP for the donation and explained how the gesture is going to help the park on their day to day activities.

He recounted how the women struggle for transport to the Damongo weekly Saturday market in the past and how they are unable to attend functions within and outside the municipality due to the luck of transportation .

Mr. Ali Mahama described Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor as the most hard working minister and MP in the current administration whom the people at mole national park are happy to have as their sector minister.

The park manager explained that the vehicle would be used for it’s intended purposes and assured the member of parliament of taking good care of the bus.

The municipal chief executive ( MCE ) for West Gonja , Hon. Musah Kusubari on his part indicated that, what the people are witnessing is as a result of a cry by the women in the area who cried to the then candidate Lawyer Abu Jinapor to support them with a means of transport to enable them go to the Damongo weekly market with ease for their economic activities.

He explained that, the donation is a historic one as it has never happened in the history of the area where a promise made is being fulfilled by an MP and urged management of the park to take a good care of the bus and to continue to pray for the minister as he is committed to transforming the park.

The Municipal Chief of Executive for West Gonja, Hon. Musah Karim Kusubari and executives of the New Patriotic Party in the Damongo Constituency led by Chairman Adam Braimah handed over the bus on behalf of the Mp on Thursday 23rd December, 2021 at mole in the West Gonja municipality of the savannah region.
