In a heartwarming display of benevolence, His Excellency Most Rev. Henryk M. Jagodzinski, the Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, along with Professor Ewa Kucharska and her husband, has made a significant contribution of six thousand Euros (€6,000.00) to St Anne’s Catholic Hospital in Damongo.

This substantial donation is earmarked to enhance and equip the hospital’s new theater, promising a pivotal advancement in life-saving capabilities within the region.

The donation ceremony took place on Monday, 15th January, 2024 at the premises of St Anne’s Catholic Hospital in Damongo.

His Excellency, Professor Ewa Kucharska, and her husband expressed their dedication to addressing the healthcare needs of the people in the Damongo Diocese through this philanthropic gesture.

The funds will be specifically utilized to outfit the hospital’s new theater, a critical facility for conducting life-saving interventions.

During the presentation, the donors commended the devoted hospital management and staff, acknowledging their tireless efforts to improve and safeguard lives in the region.

Most Rev. Peter Paul Y. Angkyier, the Bishop of Damongo Diocese and CEO of the St. Anne’s Catholic Hospital, expressed deep gratitude for the substantial donation, highlighting its potential to significantly enhance theater service delivery in the hospital.

Mr. Aiden Ngmenbon, the Diocesan Director of Health and Acting Hospital Administrator, conveyed his excitement about the generous donation, foreseeing its positive impact on the hospital’s services.

Reflecting on the hospital’s successes, particularly in surgical and maternal and child health services, Mr. Ngmenbon assured the donors that the funds would be used judiciously for their intended purpose.

While celebrating this impactful donation, the Diocesan Director of Health Service called for sustained support.

He emphasized ongoing projects, including the construction of 18 units of staff accommodation, improvements to the maternity ward, and overall enhancements to the hospital’s theater equipment.

The community and stakeholders were urged to rally behind these initiatives for the betterment of healthcare delivery in Damongo and the wider region.
