The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Damongo Constituency, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, has donated six sets of tables and chairs to the Soalepe D/A KG/Primary School to improve teaching and learning conditions.
The donation, made on 19 January 2026, followed the MP’s visit to the Soalepe community, where he engaged constituents and assessed the needs of the only school in the area.
Established in mid-2022, the school currently faces numerous logistical challenges, including inadequate furniture for teachers, who have been forced to share pupils’ desks.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Abu Jinapor underscored his commitment to education, noting, “Education is very important to me, and I will continue to support schools in my constituency to ensure that both teachers and pupils have a conducive environment for learning.”
In addition to the furniture, the MP donated a football to encourage sports and teamwork among learners. The furniture was delivered within three working days after the MP’s initial pledge.
The Headmistress, Mrs. Mumuni Salamatu, expressed appreciation on behalf of the school, describing the intervention as timely. “For some time now, our teachers have been struggling without proper furniture, and this donation will greatly improve teaching and learning,” she said.Community members also welcomed the gesture.
The NPP Chairman for Soalepe, Mr. Iddisah Mutalim, commended the MP, stating that the donation demonstrated leadership that responds to grassroots needs.
A teacher, Madam Rabiatu Imoro, who joined the school months after it opened, also lauded the support and appealed for further development.
The visit has renewed optimism within the Soalepe community, particularly regarding the future of its school and the welfare of its pupils.
