The East Gonja Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Richard Broni together with some salaga South Constituency Executives of the NPP commissioned some electrification projects at Accrape, Kiklin and Nkwanta all in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region.
The MCE at a mini durbar thanked the people for their patience all these while and indicated that, the projects commissioned constitutes phase II of the rural electrification project in the area.
He noted that, projects were started by the current NPP Government through the selfless effort of the former member of Parliament for Salaga South, Hon. Salifu Braimah Adam (Uncle Sally) which saw the completion of it’s phase one projects where communities such as Dagombia, Yayili, Matilapor, Nakpaye, Kukuo and Mabunyi benefiting and now, Accrape, Kinklin Nkwanta, Kwatakwate, Kalanpor and their adjoining communities in the phase II project.
The people expressed their utmost appreciation to the Government and the former MP for the landmark achievement adding that, it has brought joy and excitement to the people of the aforementioned communities seeing their communities being connected to the national grid of electricity for the first time.
The Chief of the area Salifu Soale on his part said, he is grateful to the President of the republic, H. E. Nana Akufo-Addo and NPP Government for what they have done for them saying, it will help boost businesses in the areas and also reduce youth migration to the south for greener pastures “Kayaye”.
The commissioning was supervised by the NEDCo/VRA officials in the East Gonja Municipal.
