In a significant development for the Gonja Kingdom in the Savannah Region, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 Presidential Candidate for the NPP, has fulfilled a crucial commitment by completing the renovation of the historic Jakpa Palace.
This promise was made during his thank-you tour as the newly elected NPP 2024 Presidential candidate which saw him enskinned as Konokonwule Wura (King of Unity) by the revered King and Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom.
The restoration of the Jakpa Palace stands as a testament to Dr. Bawumia’s dedication to preserving cultural heritage and fostering unity within the Gonja kingdom.
The completion of this project marks a significant milestone in his efforts to honor the traditions and values of the Gonja people.
However, the journey towards this achievement was not without its challenges as the Communication Officer for the NDC in the Savannah Region, R.A Jalil, had previously made inflammatory remarks, suggesting that if Dr. Bawumia followed through on his promise to renovate the Jakpa Palace, he should be castrated. Today, as the renovation stands completed, it remains to be seen whether R.A Jalil will uphold his pledge to the people of Savannah.
With the successful renovation of the Jakpa Palace, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has demonstrated his commitment to delivering on his promises and contributing to the socio-cultural development of the Savannah Region.
