The West Gonja Municipal Football Association will be starting its juvenile football league in the municipality next two weeks.
Five (5) teams from the municipality will be taking part in the U-17 league competition.
Pro Stars Fc and Young Heroes Fc both from Laribanga, Canteen Young Stars Fc from Canteen, and Savannah Youth Fc and Busunu Micro Boys from Damongo and Busunu respectively, will be taking part in a double legged competition on home and away basis in two (2) rounds
The competition is slated to start from Saturday, 12th June, 2021 and ends in September, 2021.
Savannah Youth Fc will take on Pro Stars at the DAGRICO park in the opening game while Canteen Stars hosts Young Heroes of Laribanga in the next fixture on Sunday, 13th June 2021.
Juvenile football is the backbone of every football nation and has been dormant in the country for sometime now.
The GFA in April 2021, launched a campaign to revitalize the competition.
The move is hoped to unearth talents at the grassroot for the national teams.
Penalties will decide the winner of each match if the game ends in a draw.
