Sports news

Mole Nationals Fc have been crowned champions of the maiden edition of BIG BOSS ENERGY DRINK FOOTBALL GALA COMPETITION held in Damongo, the Savannah regional capital on Saturday 15th May, 2021, at the town park.

The Division two (2) side beat Ndewura Jakpa Savannah fc 4-0 to win the ultimate.

Earlier, they beat Savannah Fc 6-0 to qualify for the finals

Top scorer for the competition is Karim Kudus Kusubari. In all he scored six (6) goals out of the ten (10) goals Mole Nationals scored in the competition.

Four (4) goals against Savannah fc in the morning and two (2) in the finals were enough for Kudus to go away with the golden boot.

In the final game, Karim Kusubari opened the scoring for Mole Nationals on the stroke of half time, with Latif Figo and Hardi scoring the 2nd and 3rd goals on the 47th and 60th minutes respectively in the 2nd half. Kudu sealed the victory for his side over fellow Division Two League side Ndewura Jakpa Savannah fc with a brilliant header after receiving an impressive cross from team mate and substitute Mprah Osman

The set piece that led to the opening goal for Mole Nationals Fc was met with a serious protest from coach Mahammed and the technical team of the Ndewura Jakpa Savannah fc. They believed the center referee awarded a wrong infringement against their side

Early in the afternoon, Laribanga Shooting Stars beat Savannah fc 6-5 on penalties after a goalless draw to pick the bronze medal of the competition.

Shooting stars lose 1-0 to Ndewura Jakpa Savannah fc earlier in the morning before playing in the 3rd place match.

The games were organized by Bel- Beverage complany Ltd, producers of BIG BOSS ENERGY DRINK

Other products of the company are Bel-Aqua active, Tamarinda, Chocolate Malt, Pukka, Squeeze Varieties, Appeal, Bel- Cola, Bel-Tropical and Original Malt among others

This is the first time the company has organized such an event with Savannah region hosting the maiden edition

Similar events will be organized in other regions.
