Musah Karim Kusubari on behalf of Hon. Abu Jinapor handed over the 60 KVA power plant to the St. Anne’s Cathedral administrator and explained that, the donation was in fulfilment of a pledge made by the Member of Parliament some few weeks ago to acquire a power plant for the church to avert power interruptions during church services.
The MP was at the same church last year when the church experienced some power outages during service.
Sustainable Development Goal number seven (7) intends to achieve affordable and clean energy for communities across the world.
Hon. Musah added that, installation works to get the church building connected to the plant will commence immediately as the Suppliers of the plant, G & J Technical services Ltd were around to get it installed and when ready, it will supply power to the Cathedral church, the Catechist Bungalow, the mission house and other facilities that may pop up around the church building in the near future.
Rev. Fr. Felix B. Kuulaare, the St Anne’s cathedral administrator who received the power plant on behalf of the Bishop of the Diocese and parishioners, commended the MP for fulfilling a pledge made to the church during one of his visits to the church and added that, the gesture will go a long way to eradicate the plight of the parish with regards to power outages.
“….. may God continue to grant good health to our Hon. Member of Parliament for the good work he is doing for the people of Damongo and for the people of Ghana. God will continue to use him as a leader for the people and therefore, whatever opportunities that come his way, he will not hesitate to help his very people that had voted for him to be there and may God continue to bless him”. Fr. said.
According to the Technicians from G & J Technical Services Ltd, the 60 KVA power plant will produce excessive power of about 240volts – 450volts, which will be enough to power all gadgets in the possession of the church.
