His Royal Majesty Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II, Paramount Chief and President of the Buipe Traditional Council, has officially commissioned an ultra-modern community centre for the people of Buipe.
The commissioning, held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, was part of Buipewura’s activities marking this year’s Buipe Damba Festival (BUDAFEST).
In his address at the commissioning, Buipewura Jinapor II highlighted that the reconstruction of the facility was driven by the need for a larger, more accommodating venue for social events in Buipe.
The previous community centre, he explained, was too small to meet the growing needs of the people.
According to him, the new facility is designed to host a variety of events, including passing-out ceremonies, naming ceremonies and weddings to reflects Buipe’s modern development.
“I would often drive through town and see people struggling to host their programs in cramped spaces,” the Buipewura said. “Now, with the Chinchanko Community Centre, they can hold their events in a more convenient, well-equipped space.”
The new centre is fully furnished with chairs, canopies, and sound equipment, providing a complete package for community events.
Buipewura Jinapor II emphasized that although the project was funded from his personal resources, the centre belongs to the entire community. He further announced plans to add catering services to enhance the centre’s functionality.
Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II concluded by expressing his gratitude to his council of chiefs for their guidance and support in bringing the project to fruition.
In addition to the community centre, Buipewura Jinapor II had also completed the construction of an accommodation block for the Buipe Senior High School, further demonstrating his commitment to the development of the Buipe town.
