In a remarkable demonstration of proactive community leadership, Assemblyman elect, Hafiz Kamara, for the DASS electoral area, has successfully secured a significant financial intervention from Member of Parliament for Damongo Constituency, Lawyer Abu Jinapor. The sum of 5,000 Ghana cedis has been earmarked for the settlement of outstanding electricity bills, which led to the disconnection of two vital mechanized boreholes crucial for the residents of YRA.

During the assembly elections campaign, water scarcity emerged as a pressing concern, resonating deeply with the people of YRA. Promising to address the challenges associated with exorbitant light bills and water access, Hon. Hafiz pledged to lobby the necessary authorities for a lasting solution.

True to his commitment, Assemblyman Hafiz embarked on a determined effort to secure the much-needed funds from MP Abu Jinapor. The assemblyman’s relentless advocacy and dedication to the well-being of his constituents culminated in the allocation of 5,000 GHC, a substantial amount that promises to provide a lasting solution to the disconnection of the boreholes.

The two mechanized boreholes in question are lifelines for the YRA community. One, located at Quarters, caters to the water needs of the people of DASS and Alhassankura, while the other at Falahiyat services the residents of Falahiyat and Cathedral areas. The disconnection of these boreholes due to outstanding bills had left the community grappling with water scarcity, impacting their daily lives.

Assemblyman Hafiz Kamara’s successful lobbying for the 5,000 GHC intervention has not only addressed the immediate crisis but has also positioned him as a dynamic and effective advocate for his community. The financial support from MP Abu Jinapor not only reconnects the vital water sources but also exemplifies the positive impact that local leaders can have when actively pursuing the well-being of their constituents.

As the YRA community celebrates the reinstatement of their water supply, Assemblyman Hafiz Kamara’s dedication to fulfilling campaign promises highlights the power of effective local representation in addressing and resolving community challenges. This collaborative effort between the assemblyman and the MP serves as a shining example of responsive governance at the grassroots level.
