GONJALAND YOUTH ASSOCIATION URGES THE FULBE COMMUNITY IN GHANA TO IGNORE THE INCITEFUL TRIBAL COMMENTS BY THE KINTAMPO NORTH MUNICIPAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE
The attention of Gonjaland Youth Association is drawn to the tribal comments made by the Municipal Chief Executive, Kintampo North Municipal Assembly, with the intention of inciting the Fulbe community in Ghana against Gonjas.
We find the comments circulating by the MCE as tribal and uncalled for in his bid to fulfil his political duties as unfortunate and should be disregarded.
Gonjas are the most welcoming people and have the largest Fulbe community in Ghana who have become part of the people in Gonjaland.
We wish to, therefore, state that, as Gonjas, we will continue to live in harmony with the Fulbe community, and any attempt to incite the Fulbe community against Gonjas for political gains should be ignored.
We are therefore urging the Fulbe community to disregard the attempt to incite them against Gonjas and continue to live in peace in Gonjaland, where we have always supported each other.
On this note, we wish to congratulate the Fulbe community for taking the bold step of unifying their leadership to protect them from the machinations of groups and individuals for their parochial interests. We welcome the National Congress of Fulbe Communities of Ghana for collaboration in the mutual interest of our people.
The Fulbe community in Ghana is discerning and capable of making political choices for the betterment of their lives and should not allow the comments of the Kintampo North Municipal Chief Executive or any other person to have effect on their political decisions against Gonjas.
The Association has had several friendly engagements with the Fulbe community in Gonjaland and will continue to do so in order to strengthen our peaceful coexistence.
Thank you.
