Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, the Member of Parliament for Damongo and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, has commissioned a newly built maternity ward equipped with modern facilities in Laribanga.
The inauguration event, held at the forecourt of the new maternity ward, also included the donation of a brand-new ambulance to the community.
During the ceremony, Mr. Jinapor reaffirmed his dedication to the development of Laribanga.
He noted that in recent years, the community has seen numerous developmental projects, including the construction of a senior high school, an astro turf pitch, a new maternity ward, and the provision of an ambulance.
He also disclosed that as part of his efforts in his first tenure as MP for the area, he has provided some 150 electric poles for electricity extension work in the community.
The Damongo MP emphasized the significance of the new maternity ward, highlighting its role in reducing the necessity for residents to travel long distances for delivery services.
He stated that the ambulance will greatly enhance the transportation of patients to larger health facilities for further care.
The MP also called on the residents to continue supporting his initiatives to ensure the continuation of developmental projects in the area.
Municipal Health Director for West Gonja, Madam Gertrude Yentumi, expressed gratitude to the MP on behalf of the Directorate and assured the community that the new facility will be utilized effectively to improve healthcare services in Laribanga.
