The Member of Parliament for the Bole–Bamboi Constituency and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, has cut the sod for the construction of major infrastructural projects at Bole Senior High School (BOSEC) to improve teaching and learning in the school.

The projects include the construction of a modern assembly hall, an ICT laboratory, a one-storey boys’ dormitory, a one-storey girls’ dormitory, and four units of four-in-one teachers’ bungalows, providing a total of 16 rooms for staff accommodation.
When completed, the new facilities are expected to significantly expand the school’s infrastructure and position BOSEC among the well-endowed senior high schools in the Savannah Region.
Speaking during the sod-cutting ceremony, Hon. Yusif Sulemana commended President John Dramani Mahama for his leadership and commitment to improving educational infrastructure across the country. He assured the school community that the projects would be completed on schedule to benefit both teachers and students.
The MP, however, cautioned the contractor, Blessing Company Limited, to ensure quality work and adhere strictly to the project timeline.
“We will not accept shoddy work or unnecessary delays. The contractor must deliver quality work within the agreed schedule to avoid any challenges with the government,” he stressed.
Hon. Sulemana further stated that it is his vision to see Bole Senior High School upgraded to a Category ‘A’ institution in the shortest possible time.
“It is my strong desire to see BOSEC attain Category ‘A’ status. Together with other stakeholders, we will continue to support the contractor to ensure the successful completion of these projects,” he added.
The latest development comes just weeks after the MP cut the sod for the construction of a Home Economics block, a sick bay, and the renovation of the school’s administration block.
These interventions are expected to greatly improve student accommodation, digital learning facilities, and staff welfare at the school.
Hon. Sulemana also commended the staff of BOSEC for their dedication and commitment to duty despite the school’s long-standing infrastructural challenges. He noted that the institution had lagged behind in infrastructure for years, but assured that his office is determined to change the narrative.
He emphasized that providing decent accommodation for teachers is essential to improving the quality of education.
“Comfortable and stable living conditions for teachers will greatly enhance their ability to deliver quality education and improve students’ academic performance,” he noted.
The MP also expressed gratitude to the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) for supporting the projects and assured that proper monitoring mechanisms would be put in place to ensure quality delivery.
The Headmaster of BOSEC, Mr. Abubakari M. Salia, expressed profound appreciation for the intervention, describing the commencement of the projects as a significant and emotional moment for both staff and students.
He recalled that during a visit by officials from GETFund and the MP to assess the school’s infrastructure needs, he appealed for support to address the numerous challenges facing the institution.

According to him, the start of the projects has renewed hope within the school community and could open the door for more transformative developments in the future.
Mr. Salia also assured the contractor of the full support of the school management to ensure the successful execution of the projects.
“We will provide every necessary support to ensure that the contractor delivers quality work,” he said.
Meanwhile, the site engineer for the project, Mr. Osman Hudu, assured stakeholders that all the facilities would be completed within the stipulated 18-month period.
