Hon. Musah Karim Kusubari, the West Gonja Municipal chief executive has on Friday, 2nd September,2022 visited some health facilities and communities in the west Gonja municipality to monitor and assess the ongoing polio immunisation exercise for children under five years.
The first round of the exercise started on the 1st of September and expected to end on Sunday, 4th September, 2022 aimed at boosting the immune system of children under five against the polio virus.
The health centres and communities the MCE visited include; the Damongo Town clinic, Hangaline CHPs , Attributo CHPs, Yipala health Centre and the Larabanga health Centre.
Hon. Musah interacted with health workers at the various health centres to have first hand information on how the vaccination exercise is going in the municipality and urged the health professionals to carry out the exercise professionally by ensuring that every child under five is vaccinated against the polio disease.
He explained that, the government together with it’s partners have done their part hence the need for the health staff, parents and caregivers to ensure that all elegible children are covered under the exercise in other to help eradicate polio in the country.
He also encouraged parents and caregivers to help carry the message across for easy immunization of the vaccine in the municipality.
