Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II, paramount chief for the Buipe traditional area and Vice president of the Savannah regional house of chiefs has safely returned to Buipe, the traditional capital of the Buipe Traditional area after some days visit to the United States of America.
Speaking to this source after a rousing welcome into his Palace by chiefs and people of the area on Saturday, 3rd June, 2023 amidst appellations and praises, the Buipewura assured his trip will bring change in terms development to the savannah region any time soon.
He explained that he visited the USA based on three issues, first, he said was to attend the graduation of his grandchild who graduated in medicine at a university in Chicago where he spent three days.
According to him, he proceeded to New York where he held his first meeting at the programme “Africa Taste of culture” where most of the diaspora’s showed interested in the development of the Savannah Region.
He indicated that the forum was fruitful as they were able to talk to friends, made friends who made a lot of promises regarding the development of the savannah region especially in the areas of agriculture, industrialization among others.
Whilst in the states, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II also met with the Yankasa people, a Muslim group and one of the biggest Muslim associations in the whole of America who are mostly blacks.
He described the president of the Yankasa people as a fantastic person, adding that he touched on almost every aspect of investment in Savannah Region in his presentation just as was contained in his speech.
He also indicated that the Yankasa people have adopted the savannah region as their own and Buipe as their town.
“the Yankasa people are saying that they have adopted Savannah Region as their own region and Buipe as their town and they will be coming for my 15th anniversary festival.Most of them mentioned the investment areas especially Buipe and wants to have plots to build estate house’s and another interest that they expressed which am very happy is agriculture”.
He also disclosed that after agriculture, they will move to industry depending on the availability of raw materials that can enable them to establish factories in the region.
The Savannah Region, according to Buipewura, is an infant region that needs to explore because they can’t sit and expect things to come, stating that, by far gone, in terms of offices and anything at all, they don’t have as a region and therefore urged all in the region to embrace peace so that they forged ahead as a people as where there is no peace, the can’t be development .
He noted that in this 21st century, the era of gun is gone, adding that they are in an of era of dialogue, brains and computer and thus assured that, his trip will bring change in terms development to the region any time soon.
He also disclosed that five secondary schools in the region including Ndewura Jakpa Senior High school, Damongo senior high school, Bole Senior High school, Sawla Senior High school and the Salaga Senior High school are going to benefit from business men in the USA specifically on what the schools need following a proposal that was written and presented in the United States.
During his days in the United States, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II was presented with two citations, one from the Yankasa Association of USA in recognition for his outstanding work in the development of cordial relations between Ghana and Ghanaians in the diaspora and another from the president of borough of Bronx New York City at a programme dubbed “Africa taste of culture”.
