Lawyer Samuel A. Jinapor, the incumbent member of Parliament for Damongo constituency and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, has been officially acclaimed as the confirmed the parliamentary candidate for the Damongo constituency for the 2024 elections by the Electoral Commission of Ghana on Saturday, 17th February 2024 at a momentous occasion in Damongo.
Hon. Abu Jinapor, in his acceptance speech, confidently assured the NPP leadership of his constituency’s unwavering support in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Expressing his commitment, Jinapor pledged the full support of the NPP constituency towards ensuring Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidency, asserting, “The Savannah Region will be a true battleground for the NPP.”
He emphasized the importance of every vote and seat, declaring his confidence in securing them for the NPP government, with divine assistance.
Addressing party unity, Jinapor called for unwavering support, urging, “Let us unite and back Jinapor, back Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and back the NPP to win the Savannah Region.”
Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support, Jinapor thanked Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and acknowledged the endorsement from party stalwarts like Justin Frimpong Kodua and NPP General Secretary.
Fatimatu Abubakar, the Minister for Information designate, commended Jinapor’s transformative works, highlighting his humility, dedication, and visionary leadership.
Echoing the sentiment, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, praised Jinapor’s dedication and commitment to public service.
Alhaji Sulemana Iddrisu, the Savannah Regional Chairman of the NPP, lauded Jinapor’s achievements as a platform for party growth in the region, warning the opposition National Democratic Congress of the NPP’s determination.
The ceremony, attended by notable party executives and supporters, showcased the overwhelming endorsement of Jinapor and the NPP’s determination to secure victory in Damongo and the entire Savannah Region.
Damongo, historically held by the opposition NDC, saw a historic victory for Jinapor in the 2020 elections, marking a significant shift in political landscape.
