Todayday, most parents see much value in their animals than they have for their children.
“Prior to retiring to bed each night, some parents prefer ensuring their pens are well closed whilst their children between the ages of ten to sixteen are on the streets roaming”.
A Damongo based citizen, Abdul Ganiyu Kantamah stated this in his piece entitled “Parents have much time for pigs than their children”.
Read below the details
PARENTS HAVE MUCH VALUE FOR PIGS THAN THEIR CHILDREN.
Children they say are gifts from God. Whereas some are spending millions of dollars in search of womb escape, there are some who have been gifted with it yet are failing to take good care of them.
Some parents appear to have much value and respect for their cattle, pigs, fowls and other animals than their children.
Prior to retiring to bed each night, some parents prefer ensuring their pens are well closed whilst their children between the ages of ten to sixteen are on the streets roaming.
Can you imagine the sleepless night a parent will have when his cattle, pig, goat or sheep does not retire to bed at night?
However, when it comes to his children he cares less where and what they are out there on the streets doing at about 12 mid night.
This canker is eating into the moral fabrics of our societies and when not checked, will breed armed robbers, teenage mothers, and other social vices.
Some communities in the Savannah region are worst offenders. It’s disgusting seeing children at that age on the street loitering deep into the night causing nuisance whilst parents watch unconcern.
I wish to call on our revered chiefs, pastors, imams, youth leaders and other opinion leaders to consider taking action against this canker.
Remember, “All of you are shepherds and each of you is responsible for his flock. A man is shepherd of his house and he is responsible. A woman is the sheperd of the house of her husband and she is responsible. Each of you is a shepered and each is responsible for his flock” Prophet Mohammed PBUH.
Thanks.
