The Damongo Constituency NPP Youth wing led by the Damongo constituency youth Organizer, Mr. Yakubu Yussif on Saturday, 22nd April, 2023 organized a football competition game for some two NPP Ladies groups in Canteen, a suburb in the Damongo constituency to mark the occasion of Eid Fitr and the birthday of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Damongo.
According to Mr. Yakubu Yussif, the event was organized to Mark an auspicious day in the calendar of the Muslim umnah that is observed in the holy month of Ramadan across the globe.
He noted that, the auspicious day by no accident, also marked the 40th birth date of the Indefatigable and development oriented legislature for the Damongo constituency whose leadership by no dot of doubt hoisted the image of Damongo on the world manual for easy identification.
He also indicated that the day by artifact, was skillfully designed and carefully termed as “The Salafest football competition between Kanyiti-Ladies and the Great Survivors Ladies” all in the central of Canteen to mark the 40th birth date of Hon Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor, Mp for Damongo constituency.
He also explained that the event was organized to celebrate the special anniversary of the Mp in a grandstyle by the constituency Youth wing led by commander Yakubu Yussif and collaborated by the Assembly-Man hopeful for the Canteen electoral area, Yakubu Abdul Haku popularly known as (Ayoman).
This is a commendable effort by the NPP youth wing to celebrate these occasions and promote community engagement through sports which provides an opportunity for the women of Canteen to come together, engage in friendly competition, and enjoy a fun and healthy activity.
The event saw in attendance, some constituency executives, the canteen electoral area coordinator, Mr. Musah Iddrisu Polo, polling Station chairmen and their executives, Stakeholders of the Canteen community led by the Nyiribi-wura (Youth chief) and the Queen Mother of Canteen.
The match ended goalless between the two women groups; kanyiti stars ladies and Dream Survivors supper stars ladies from the two major women Youth wings and was chaired by the Damongo Npp constituency 2nd Vice chairman, Hon Mukaila Salia who prayed a word of unity among the youth and people of Canteen on behalf of the member of parliament.
