STAUNCH NDC ACTIVIST DEFECTS TO THE RULING NPP IN THE SAWLA TUNA KALBA CONSTITUENCY
19th April, 2023
A staunch member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency of the Savannah Region has defected to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). The former NDC constituency executive aspirant made the wise decision to join the NPP, Africa’s largest and most attractive political party, yesterday April 18, 2023.
At a brief ceremony held at the constituency party office in Sawla, a team of Regional and Constituency Executives supervised the event and they are;
- Mr Mohammed Issah – Regional Secretary
- Mr. Abu Lutie – Regional Treasurer
- Rapheal Akati Mahama – Regional Youth Organiser 4.Mohammed Marhey Bamba – Regional Nasara Coordinator.
- Mr. Awusi Nantogma and the constituency Secretary, Mr Jonathan and a host of other Constituency Executives. The team warmly welcomed the defectee into the party on behalf of the Venerable Regional Chairman, Professor Alhaji Iddrisu Kalamonia. The Regional Secretary, Mr. Mohammed Issah who led the team, assured the defectee of the party’s commitment to making him feel at home and doing everything possible to improve his life.
The defectee, who plans to bring along hundreds of NDC youth groups to the NPP, cited the unprecedented socio-economic development being rolled out by the ruling party as the reason for his decision. He expressed disappointment that, the NDC in opposition has not been able to offer a single policy alternative over the years and instead resorts to pessimism and unproductive criticism.
This is one of many recent defections from the NDC to the NPP, and more are expected in the coming weeks and months as the government is currently focused on accelerating human and infrastructural development across the country as it recovers from the global pandemic.
