His Excellency, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Presidential Candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is scheduled to embark on a tour of the Savannah Region on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024.

This tour forms part of his comprehensive nationwide regional engagement strategy.

During his visit to the Savannah Region, Vice President Bawumia will partake in a series of activities aimed at fostering dialogue, understanding and community engagement.

These activities include whistle-stops at key locations such as the Yapei toll booth and the Fulfulso Lorry market as well as a private visit to meet with the Busunuwura.

Additionally, he will convene a breakfast meeting with clergy members, engage with the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs, inspect ongoing limited registration exercises, interact with market women, conduct house-to-house visits, host a youth connect session, convene a party meeting and conclude the day with a dinner before departing for Tamale.

In anticipation of Vice President Bawumia’s visit, the New Patriotic Party in the Savannah Region, led by Prof. Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana Kalamonia, assures the public of thorough preparations to ensure a warm and enthusiastic welcome for the incoming president.

The statement emphasizes the significance of flying NPP flags across the region, symbolizing the party’s commitment to truth, freedom, and development.

Furthermore, the statement reiterates a call for NPP supporters and citizens alike to participate in the scheduled activities without fear of intimidation or threats. It underscores the importance of maintaining peace and order during the tour, urging individuals to refrain from any actions that may disrupt the peaceful conduct of events.

The statement, signed by Fredrick Abukari Tahiru, Savannah Regional Communications Director, emphasizes the need for vigilance against any attempts to incite chaos or anarchy during, before, and after the tour.

It affirms the commitment to upholding the principles of democracy and encourages all stakeholders to contribute positively to the success of Vice President Bawumia’s visit to the Savannah Region.
