The Gonjaland Youth Association (GLYA) has donated a brand new Apsonic motorbike to the Kandiawura Mahama Bi-Awuribi I to aid him in carrying out his traditional duties effectively.
The presentation ceremony took place at the Jakpa Palace on Friday, November 7, 2025. Speaking during the event, the President of the Association, Mr. Alhassan Baba Darison, explained that the gesture was motivated by the need to support the hardworking chief, who had been facing transportation challenges.
“He has no supporter, but he’s been trying,” Mr. Darison said. “So Gonjaland Youth Association, we saw it as something we should take up. We don’t have much, but we need to support our chiefs to work. He has no car not even a pickup or four-wheel drive and the only motorbike he had was being used by his children. So, as Gonjaland Youth, we decided to start by providing him with a new motorbike. Subsequently, we’ll work towards getting him a strong vehicle to aid his movement.”

Mr. Darison, joined by members of his executive team, officially handed over the keys to the brand-new Apsonic motorbike to the Kandiawura, describing the donation as a symbol of respect and a demonstration of the association’s commitment to promoting development and unity in Gonjaland.
In his response, the Kandiawura expressed profound gratitude to the Gonjaland Youth Association for their thoughtful and timely gesture.
“I am deeply thankful to the leadership and members of the Gonjaland Youth Association for this kind support,” he said. “I promise to make good use of the motorbike in service to my people. May God bless you all for remembering me.”
He also extended his appreciation to the entire Gonjaland, praying for continued peace and cooperation among the youth and traditional leaders.

The donation was met with applause and joy from traditional leaders at the Palace, who lauded the association for its proactive steps in supporting traditional leadership across Gonjaland.
