GMB 2022- Gonja Kingdom throws full support to Hariya to win the competition

The King and Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, Yagbonwura Tutumba Bore Essa (I), together with the chiefs and people of Gonja state have thrown their full support to Yussif Hariya Achone (known in the TV3 GMB as Hariya) to bring the Ghana Most Beautiful (GMB) crown home when the competition starts.

Buipewura Jinapor II

The leader and Paramount Chief for Buipe Traditional Area and Vice President of the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs Buipewura Jinapor (II), on behalf of the the King, chiefs and people of the Savannah region made this known during a meeting with some stakeholders including the media at his palace, on Friday, 15th July, 2022.

Buipewura Jinapor (II) appealed to the media in the Savannah region to support the region’s representative bid to bring the crown home, saying “this is our year to win the competition and all must get involved”.

20 yearld old Hariya got the knod to represent the Savannah region in this year’s edition.

Buipewura Jinapor II commended the contribution of media in the region and appealed to the media to lead the advocacy to assist Hariya win the crown

Aside the media, the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs, the youth, women groups, institutions and other bodies in the region will also have a role to play including resources mobilization, public sensitization.

The leadership of the media at the meeting assured Buipewura Jinapor II of their readiness to support Hariya to win the competition.

The media also expressed gratitude to Buipewura Jinapor II for the recognition and vowed to do the needed advocacy to help Hariya bring home the crown.

Hariya

Hariya Yussif Achone hails from Buipe in the Central Gonja district of the Savannah region. She is 20 years old.

Hariya started her education at Buipe Miracle preparatory School and later moved to continue at Angel Education Complex in Kumasi.

Hariya proceeded to the Yaa Asantewaa Girls SHS for her second cycle education.

Hariya, is currently studying degree in information at the University of Ghana, Legon.

The Ghana Most Beautiful pageant is organized by TV3 and it seeks to unearth the tenacity and talents of young girls in the area of the socio-cultural values, economic and tourism potentials of the nation and particularly their individual regions.
