Executives of the Gonjaland Youth Association has on Thursday, 22nd December, 2022 paid a courtesy call on the king and overload of the Gonja Kingdom, HRM Yagbonwura Sulemana Boresa Tuntumba I at the Jakpa palace in Damongo.
The visit according to the PRO of the Association was to check up on their father, the King and to also follow up on a letter the Association wrote to the Gonja traditional council.
Briefing the media after interactions with the King, the PRO of the Association, Mr. Borejinkpr Habibu Muftawu explained that the Association in the past two weeks presented a letter to the Gonja Traditional council which seeks to be call for a dialogue between Executives of the Gonjaland youth Association and Chiefs of the Kingdom but has since not received a reply, hence the need to follow up as custom demands.
He acknowledged that the peace and tranquility of the kingdom is in the power of the overload Yagbonwura TunTumba I, the reason for which the had to call on him at his palace for some deliberations.
Mr. Mufti also indicated that the National executives committee of the Association are also engaging with stakeholders for their next action on happenings within the Kingdom.
He assured the youth and the people of the Gonja Kingdom that the Association is not relenting until the right thing is done for the youth, elders, and the Chiefs of the Gonjaland Kingdom.
“What we stood for is what we are still on and we are for peace for the people of the Gonjaland Kingdom”
The President of the association, Lawyer Mohammed Amin on his part said the have started the campaign and will still continue with it in the right processes.
“I want the Gonja Kingdom to know that it is a campaign for the Gonja Kingdom. What we are doing is something that will bring development for the entire kingdom” He said
“Nobody should say that the Gonja Kingdom is divided, we are doing what our people especially the youth entrusted us to do and we are not going to divide our youth and chiefs of this beautiful Kingdom” he cautions.
All this comes at the back of a recent video by the the PRO of the Gonjaland Youth Association calling on the kingdom to address some disturbing issues.
