On September 29, 2023, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana made a generous donation of food items and cash to support Yagbonwura’s Maiden Damba Celebration.
His kind gesture according to the West Gonja MCE, Hon. Musah Karim Kusubari, is aimed to support the Gonja king, Yagbonwura Bii – kunuto Jewu Soale I and the entire Gonja people in their preparations towards the yagbonwura’s maiden Damba celebration.
The items presented to the king on behalf of the Vice President consist of 20 bags of 25kg rice, a bull and a cash amount of Ghc 50,000 cedis.
This act of kindness, the MCE said, reflects the deep respect and fatherly regard that Dr. Bawumia holds for Yagbonwura.
In a gracious acceptance of the donated items, Akunatupewura Mohaqq, the personal secretary of the Yagbonwura, expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the king and also offered heartfelt prayers for Dr. Bawumia in all his endeavors.
