The Damongo Catholic secretariat in the savannah region on Friday, 23rd December, 2022 held it’s end of year get together party for staff of the secretariat and institutions of the Diocese.
The Bishop of the Diocese, Most Rev. Peter Paul Angkyier in a sermon before the party urged the employees to be thankful to God for his graciousness and the many gift that they received from him during the year.
He also urged them to show gratitude for taking away the shame of loneliness and for helping the one who would have been excluded from normal human beings, adding that God’s love is in measurable in their life as many of them didn’t fall sick and that, even those of them who felt sick recovered.
The Bishop used the occasion to encourage the workers to prepare themselves and others towards the success of their various units and also help one another.
Most Rev. Peter Paul Angkyier entreated the various departments to focus on the mission of the church and their responsibility and purposes in developing their units and the community.
He indicated that the church has one mission which one department can not fulfill hence the need for the various departments to work and cooperate with each other to achieve the desired outcomes.
On the current economic challenges in the country, the Bishop called on the staff to thank God for the cedi recovering it’s value saying the recent Russia – Ukraine war and COVID has destructed a lot of issues including release of funds from donors to carry out developmental initiatives.
He admonished the workers to look into the past, present and future in building their capacities so as to learn from the past, leave the present and move into the future with new visions so as to be able to carry out the expected task.
He thanked them for their contribution towards the development of the Diocese and entreated them to continue to work hard in achieving more in the coming years.
