Today, April 1, 2021, Busunuwura Monasa Jonokpowu II Paramount chief of Busunu traditional area was sworn in as a member of the National House of Chiefs to represent the Savannah Region House of Chiefs at the National level.
This became necessary following the demise of the late Kusawguwura Kunkarga I. He has thus replaced late Kusawguwura Kunkarga I
and also fulfill the constitutional requirement of the Republic of Ghana.
The National House of Chiefs is the highest decision making body for Chiefs in Ghana.
Busunuwura Monasa Jonokpowu II was enskinned as Paramount chief of the Busunu traditional area on the 4th of January, 2020, and out-doored on 5th January, 2020.
In his chieftaincy life, he was first enskinned as Dirpewura in 2014 of the Busunu traditional area and later elevated to the Murugu divisional skin in 2018. As a divisional chief he was again elevated to the Paramount skin of Busunu.
Busunuwura retired as a senior land-valuer in the valuation division of lands commission.
