The Vice President of the Savannah Region House of Chiefs, HRM Buipewura Jinapor Il Abdulai made a donation of GHC1000 to Damongo based human welfare outfit, Wipe-Away Foundation on April 17, 2021.
Similar donations were made to the Damongo and Sawla ophanages in the West Gonja municipal and Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district of the Savannah region respectively.
The leader of Buipe traditional area expressed gratitude to the Wipe Away foundation for it’s continuous support to the vulnerable in the Savannah region. He urged them to continue the good works to add value to human life and improve livelihoods.
As a charity outfit, Wipe-Away Foundation generates money from individuals support to foot medical expenses of patients in the area who find it difficult to raise money to pay for medical bills and also help set up businesses for the vulnerable in society.
Busunuwura Monasa Jonokpowu II, the Paramount Chief of the Busunu Traditional Area (BTA) making the presentation, explained that Buipewura Jinapor II has been following activities of the foundation and its sources of funding and wishes to contribute to it’s activities.
The vulnerable people you support and empower them economically, those you send to school and the many bills you are footing is good for Society progress, he added.
The Operations Manager of Wipe-Away foundation, Agrowura Musah Fatawu received the donation on behalf of the foundation. He expressed the foundation’s gratitude to the chief and assured that the money will be put into good use.
Agrowura said the foundation’s major source of funding is through numerous donors across the region and appealed to other stakeholders to reach out to the foundation.
The money donated was raised through the contributions of chiefs and participants of Buipewura Jinapor II social media platform called Jinapor Philosopher Chief.
The donation was made on behalf of Buipewura Jinapor II by Gbenapewura Adam Mahama Sakan, a sub chief under the Wasipe traditional area, the Yagbonwura Chief linguist, Alhaji Afuli Losina.
The items donated included bags of rice, gallons of oil, mineral water, toiletries, and undisclosed amount of money to the homes on Saturday 17th April, 2021.
