As part of it’s 20th anniversary celebration, Zakat Foundation of America, has commissioned a multi purpose community center for the chiefs and people of Bamboi, in the Bole district of the Savannah region.
The GHC1.3m multi purpose facility contains 300 seater auditorium, 50 seater conference hall, 40 seater hall, a working Jim, a bed clinic, mechanised borehole, standby generator, solar for the library and other valuables.
Mr. Chirankwa, speaking on behalf of the Omanhene Kwaku Dapaah Naa C. K, said the old community center was pulled down some years ago when a new road was being constructed in Bamboi.
Mr. Chirankwa said the facility came at the right time because a lot of effort were made in the past to reconstruct one but to no avail and said said they were grateful as a traditional council for the magnificent edifice built for them.
Alhaji Salia Hassan, the country Director for
Zakat Foundation speaking at the ceremony on ‘the 20years of changing lives’, said the foundation was founded in Chicago in the United States of America in 2001 and the Ghana chapter in 2002.
Since that time the foundation has executed 23 projects including boreholes, ambulance provision, supporting orphans and a host of other projects.
“Citizens at times lack the understanding on how NGO’s work and some even think they can betrayed others by taking them out of positions”, he lamented.
He however said this will not deter him and others but will help them see to the development of the people.
He describe the facility as one of his biggest achievements as the Country Director of Zakat Foundation.
The Bole District Health Director said people of Alhaji salia nature are lucky and hardworking and that he is a man who cares so much about the society.
She said when she first came to the Bole district she heard a lot about Alhaji Salia, and this edifice is a vindication of the numerous projects he and his Foundation have done for the area and prayed for God’s guidance and protection for him.
