Abu Jinapor, the Mp for Damongo and Minister for lands and Natural resources has intervened by making a down payment of an undisclosed amount of money to NEDco to get them reconnect power back to the St. Anne’s Catholic Hospital and the offices of the Ghana National Fire service in Damongo after being disconnected from the National grid some weeks ago.
The two institutions were disconnected from the national grid over non payment of their electricity bills which has accumulated to some huge sums compelling NEDco to take them off from the National grid.
The St. Anne’s Hospital was first disconnected on 4th May, 2023 but through the intervention of the savannah regional Minister, Hon. Saeed Muhazu Jibriel, the power was restored only for them to be disconnected again on 9th May, 2023.
Several appeals were made to stakeholders and relevant authorities in the area to come to the aid of the two institutions since their offices were closed for public services.
The Damongo MP, Lawyer Abu Jinapor after the sad situation was tabled before him, listened to the plea of the people and got this two institutions reconnect.
The St. Anne’s Hospital was reconnected on the evening of Monday, 22nd May, 2023 to be followed by the reconnection of the offices of the Ghana National Fire Service in Damongo.
