Member of Parliament for the Damongo Constituency, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor has commissioned a newly constructed three – unit classroom block for the people of Nabori, a community in the West Gonja Municipality of the savannah region.
The commissioning was witnessed by the chief and people of the Nabori community at a short ceremony held at the school’s premises on Saturday, 8th October, 2022.
Addressing the people of the Nabori community, the lawmaker explained that, the education and future of the children of the Nabori community is at his heart and that, he could not sleep when his attention was drawn to the fact that, the existing aged long block which served the community for so many years was at the point of collapsing.
He said, he had put in efforts to ensure that the new block is built to replaced the dilapidated old block to provide quality education delivery to the people of Nabori and to also avoid any unforeseen disaster as the old block was weak and on the verge of collapsing.
He added that the fully furnished facility would provide a conducive environment to enhance effect teaching and learning in the Nabori area as the children will feel safe under the newly constructed block compared to the old one.
The MP, who said it is his responsibility to provide for his constituents their basic social needs said, he is resolved to bringing development to the Nabori community especially in the areas of education and health stressing that, he will be putting up a nursery and Junior high school blocks in the area soon.
He urged the people to continue to pray for him and the NPP government as plans are far advanced for works to commence on the construction of a STEM university at Nabori to provide university education to the people of Damongo and the Savannah region.
The Assembly Man for the area, Hon. Iddrisu Abdul – Rahman who described the Damongo MP as a unifier and MP for all, on behalf of the Nabori people expressed his happiness for the gesture and thanked the MP for the efforts made to raise the new facility, saying it will go a long way to improve teaching and learning in the area.
The newly built classroom block was build to replace an aged long depilated structure which was at the verge of collapsing.
