In his address as Special Guest of honor at the just ended Gonjaland Youth Association Congress and 1st Anniversary celebration of the king of Gonjaland held at Damongo, President Nana Akufo Addo commended the peaceful governance tradition inherited from the King’s predecessor, the late Yagbonwura Sulemana Tuntumba Boresa I, in Gonjaland.
The President emphasized the importance of upholding peace during the upcoming elections scheduled for December 7, 2024. He urged for unity to ensure that Ghanaians can freely choose their next leader to govern the country.
Acknowledging the concerns raised by the president of the Gonja Youth Association regarding development challenges, President Akufo Addo pledged to address them responsibly, emphasizing that any government actions should not be viewed as mere election tactics but as genuine efforts to tackle developmental issues.
Despite having to depart due to prior commitments, President Akuffo Addo expressed gratitude for the warm reception and extended his best wishes to the people of Gonja.
He highlighted his pride in contributing to the creation of the Savannah region, underscoring Ghana’s reputation as a beacon of democracy in Africa.
The President’s remarks underscored the significance of peaceful transitions and democratic values as Ghana prepares for the forthcoming elections, aiming to uphold its esteemed reputation on the continent.
