Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, the Member of Parliament for the Damongo Constituency, has donated 200 bicycles to students residing in the Busunu electoral area within his constituency.
This generous act, which took place on November 3, 2023, is part of A u Jinapor’s ongoing commitment to support students in the Damongo constituency.
The primary objective of this initiative is to alleviate the daily struggle faced by the students who previously had to walk long distances from neighboring communities to access Junior High School education in the Busunu township.
The inspiration for this donation came from Mr. Dari Osman Thomas, the assembly member for Busunu, who appealed to MP, Abu Jinapor to help the students in need.
During the bicycle presentation, Samuel Abu Jinapor shared his dedication to the growth of education in the Damongo Constituency and pledged to do everything within his capacity as a Member of Parliament to ensure that the necessary resources and support for educational development in the constituency are provided.
He emphasized that the progress of any constituency is closely tied to the quality of its education.
Mr. Jinapor also had some words of advice for the fortunate recipients of the bicycles, encouraging them to take good care of the bicycles to ensure their longevity and also urged them to use the bikes for their intended purpose.
As someone who had to cover long distances to access junior secondary education in the past, Abu Jinapor deeply understands the positive impact that this intervention will have on students who used to trek such distances on foot.
Hon. Thomas Dari Osman, the Assemblyman for the Busunu electoral area, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the community and highlighted the numerous ways in which MP Jinapor has consistently supported the area, including a recent donation of dual desks to local schools.
He added that, the people of Busunu are truly thankful for the MP’s unwavering commitment to their educational needs.
In addition to this charitable act, Samuel Abu Jinapor also inaugurated a four-unit accommodation block and also provided a motorbike for teachers working in Langatere, a rural community near Busunu.
The accommodation issue for teachers in the constituency has been a significant challenge, and this gesture will undoubtedly make a difference.
