The Naada Foundation, a non-governmental organization founded by Mrs. Naada Jinapor, the wife of the Damongo constituency MP, has conducted a successful free medical outreach, serving over 800 residents in the Achubunyor Electoral area within the Damongo constituency.
This impactful event took place on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Achubunyor CHPS premises.
To ensure accessible healthcare for the community, the foundation assembled a dedicated team of medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and specialists to help provide essential first aid, medications, and referrals to those in need within the Achubunyor electoral area.
Mrs. Naada Jinapor expressed in an interview that the foundation’s mission was to make primary healthcare accessible to all, as it is a fundamental need often challenging to access.
She emphasized the importance of the exercise, particularly for women and children, underscoring the foundation’s commitment to serving vulnerable populations and bringing healthcare services to the doorstep of the people in the Damongo constituency.
She further noted that their mandate, as an organization particularly in an area where her husband is the representative of the people, was to provide healthcare services to the constituency and beyond, in alignment with the needs and priorities of the community.
She further noted that the Naada Foundation’s impact extends beyond the Damongo constituency, as they have also conducted similar activities in places like the Kintampo South constituency in the Bono East region, with plans to expand their reach in the future.
Mrs Naada Jinapor also emphasized that, currently, the foundation’s primary focus is on providing free healthcare for children and addressing their nutritional needs, recognizing that children are the future.
Mr. Abdul Ganiu Nuhu Kantamah, a physician assistant involved in the medical outreach, expressed surprise at the high turnout and the conditions detected during the exercise.
He emphasized the importance of such interventions, highlighting that many individuals were unknowingly ill and that the foundation’s efforts had prompted them to seek care.
The Assemblyman for the Achubunyor electoral area, Hon. Kipo Yakubu, conveyed the community’s gratitude to the Naada Foundation for their free health screening initiative and praised the MP’s contributions to the area’s development, including healthcare infrastructure, equipment donations, and support for women’s economic empowerment.
Beneficiaries of the health screening exercise from Achybunyor, Mempeasem and Jonokponto shared their appreciation, considering Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor and his wife as “God-sent” for the positive impact they have had on their lives, particularly women in the Achubunyor electoral area.
The Naada Foundation’s extensive work includes health screening initiatives in the Damongo constituency and other regions, provision of clean drinking water, distribution of sanitary pads to female students, and tree planting. In 2022, the foundation covered the costs of breast cancer surgery and medical bills for two patients, demonstrating their commitment to the well-being of the people.
