Jira Yagbonwura BiiKunuto I Soale Jewu has commended officials of KAGA Foundation, organizers of first edition of Wuripe Savannah Cultural Festival (WUSACUF) for their role in promoting tradition and culture within the Gonja Kingdom.
Jira Yagbonwura BiiKunuto I said the cultural reality show program which commenced last year is an excellent one and should be continued since it is massively promoting culture and offering opportunities to young men and women in the area.
Jira Yagbonwura BiiKunuto (I) again urged the KAGA foundation team members to keep their heads cool and involve all stakeholders to make sure the cultural passion amongst the youth is maintained forever.
Jira Yagbonwura BiiKunuto I made the call when officials and some contestants to last year’s cultural reality show paid homage to him at his current Palace in Damongo on Friday, September 8, 2023.
KAGA foundation organized the first reality cultural festival show in Gonjaland in partnership with Bole based hotel, Wuripe and Royal Lodge (Bole Dubai).
The team, led by Abutu Kapori paid homage to the Overlord and King of Gonja Kingdom to officially congratulate and inform him of their activities in the Savannah region.
“As stakeholders in developing culture and promoting tradition and culture in the Savannah region, KAGA foundation has come to officially congratulate you Yagbonwura BiiKunuto I, receive your blessings and to also inform you of our activities, Mr Kopori said whilst introducing team members to the King.
Adam Akilu Gideon, the spokesperson for KAGA foundation said the process to kick start season two for the Wuripe Savannah Cultural Festival (WUSACUF) will soon begin once the raining season is over.
Experience from the season one showed that the program was intermittently disruptive due to rains, making the flow and processes to the finals a bit challenging. A situation the organizers do not want to encounter again in the coming season.
He appealed to the general public and all potential candidates to remain calm as the team puts up final preparatory touches for the kick start of season two.
Abutu Kapori, Iddrisu Adam Afuli, Mohammed Abdulai, among other team members visited the Palace.
The prestigious sparkling cultural show which was organized with the aim of preserving and promoting cultural heritage through the youth, was highly patronized by the public.

The WUSACUF -2022 grand finale was held on 21st May, 2022, at Wuripe and Sons Royal Lodge in Bole.
