The Association of sachet ( pure ) Water Producers in the Savannah region has announced their plans to increase the price of a bag of pure in the region.
Disclosing the increment to this reporter, the Damongo branch chairman of the Association, Mr. Abubakari Abdul – Wahab who is also the regional vice chairman of the Association explained that, the decision on the new increment was met at a meeting held in Bole for it’s members on Tuesday, 8th November, 2022.
He noted that the decision to increase the price was not easy for them as an association but said the cost of maintenance and production cost of the Sachet water keeps going up day by day hence the need for the new increment.
According to him, a bag of pure water will now sell at Ghc 8 as producer price and Ghc 9 as retail price across the Savannah region.
Meanwhile the Association recently increased the price of a bag of pure water from Ghc 4 to Ghc 6 and now Ghc 8.
He however appealed to their numerous customers to bear and reason with the association as it is as a result of rising production costs which is beyond their control.
Per the new increment, a sachet of pure water is expected to be sold at 0.50 pesewas effective Thursday, 10th November,2022
