The Honourable Member of Parliament for Salaga-South Constituency Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah in partnership with HBC Promised Ghana, a Non – Governmental Organisation (NGO) has donated educational materials to pupils of 31st December Women Movement Kindergarten and Primary School in Salaga.
The items included three hundred and sixty (360) pieces of school bags, three hundred and sixty pieces of exercise books, pens and pencils. Additionally, the pupils of the school were treated to some biscuits and juices for snack.
Speaking at a short ceremony in salaga on Wednesday 17th August, 2022, the CEO of HBC Promised Ghana, Mr. Evans LeMont thanked all their donors for their support in mobilising the educational materials for the pupils of 31st December Women Movement Primary School. He also emphasised the historical connections between Black Americans and Salaga by virtue of the slave trade and committed to working closely with all stakeholders in the Municipality to assist in the development efforts of the constituency.
Mr. Adam Kawurbi (Assistant Director, Supervision) and Mr. Ebenezer Bonzali (GES PRO) on behalf of the Municipality Director of Education expressed their gratitude to HBC Promised Ghana, its partners and the MP Hon. Hajia Zuwera for the investment they have been making in the educational sector over the years to enhance the quality of education in the Municipality. He further encouraged the pupils to make good of use of the items and take their studies seriously.
A representative on behalf of the MP for Salaga-South Constituency Hajia Afisha Bawah Doshie said the support would impact positively on the education of the beneficiary pupils and enhance their mental status to learn. She thanked Mr. Evans LeMont and HBC Promised Ghana for the donation.
The School Parent Teacher Association (P.T.A) Chairman Alhaji Yakubub Digi on behalf of the parents and pupils offered special prayers for HBC Promised Ghana and the MP for Salaga-South for their benevolence.
In August 2021, the MP for Salaga-South Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah officially introduced the partnership arrangement between her office and HBC Promised Ghana, a Non – Governmental Organisation based in United State to the chiefs and people of her constituency. The partnership indicated their intention to roll out various activities including sports/ games, apprenticeship programs for the youth as well as educational support, hygiene and sanitation. The partnership intends to operate under the hashtag #RiseUpSalaga.
