The headmistress and staff of the St Anne’s Cathedral primary school in the West Gonja Municipality of the Savannah region has awarded best performing pupils of the school with learning materials such as books, pens, pencils, erasers etc for their outstanding performance in the last academic term of the education calendar.
At a short ceremony at the school’s premises on Tuesday, 8th February, 2022, the headmistress of the school, Madam Veronica Nornia explained that the presentations to the school children was geared motivating them to continue to work hard in their academic work and to encourage the non performing ones to sit up in order to improve on the academic excellence of the school.
She urged the school children to appreciate the little given to them and appealed to the rest of the them to take their studies very serious in order to make their parents proud by topping the current awardees in their next terminal exams.
Madam Veronica disclosed that, the learning materials were purchased from the school’s Capitation Grant and therefore, calling on philanthropists and individuals to come to the aid of the infant school because the school is challenged with furniture and the educational materials.
She thanked the staff of the school for their cooperation and dedication to work over the years towards academic excellence of the school.
First, Second and third runners of each class of the school ranging from Basic 1 to Basic 6 totalling 16 school children were awarded.
