Hundreds of Catholic faithful of the Good Shepherd Parish at Tuna in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district of the savannah region on Sunday, December 12, 2021 attended a special thanksgiving mass at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church to extend their farewell felicitations to Rev. Fr. Cornelius Termagre for his dedicated service to Parish by extension the district as an assistant priest of the parish and also as headmaster of Tuna Senior High Technical School from 2019 to 2021.
In spite of his tight schedules as headmaster of a Senior High School, Rev. Fr. Cornelius was hailed by individuals, groups and associations of the Parish for availing himself to catering for their spiritual and pastoral needs.He was also highly commended for being profound in the breaking of God’s words and liturgically decorous in the celebration of the Eucharist.
The parish priest, Rev. Fr. David Jimah Bakeri on behalf of the parish community thanked Fr. Cornelius for all the wonderful services he rendered to the Parish. He therefore prayed for God’s choicest grace for him (Fr. Cornelius) in all his endeavors, especially in his quest to serving mother Church and mother Ghana.
In the face of the departure of Fr. Cornelius, Rev. Fr. Bakeri disclosed that Rev. Fr. Charles Dibin was transferred and assigned assistant priest of the Parish. A T-shirt of the Parish was presented to him to officially welcome him to the Parish.
The Parish Laity Council on behalf of the Parish community also presented an ultra-mordern, well designed citation with an amount of Five hundred Ghana cedis (GHC 500.00) to Fr. Cornelius in appreciation for his solid, dedicated and consistent services he rendered to the Church and the Tuna community at large.
Filled with joy, Fr. Cornelius thanked the parishioners for all the support offered him, both known and unnoticed during his two year stay in the parish as a priest and headmaster. He promised them of his continues love for the parish and his constant prayers for them.
Rev. Fr. Cornelius Termagre has since left Tuna for Bole where he would continue to render services to the Church and the country at large as an assistant priest at the Martyrs of Uganda Parish and also as headmaster of Bole Senior High School.
