The Parish Priest of St. Peter Parish, Rev. Fr. David Dum who welcome H. E. Henryk Mieczyslaw Jagodzinski and the Bishop, Most Rev. Peter Paul Angkyier continued to narrate that Daboya became an outstation in 2015 shortly after the creation of the North Gonja district where fellowship and Sunday services were done in an uncompleted district assembly kindergarten classroom.
Rev fr. David added that, the numbers kept growing due to the posting of nurses and teachers to the district hence the need for the priests to celebrate masses in Daboya on every Sunday which saw the building of the chapel to ensure a decent environment for worship.
The Bishop of the Diocese, Most Rev. Peter Paul Angkyier before the end of mass said, considering the pastoral situations of St Peter Parish, a multi ethnic and some of the conflicts that have happened around the area and praying and reflecting , God revealed that one of the saints who was very outstanding in bringing people together was St Francis of Assisi. St Francis of Assisi saw everyone as a brother and one that called everyone to a universal brotherhood not considering where one comes from, what language they speak so we should understand that we are all brothers and sisters, children of God. Hence, the reason behind the new outstation as St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Daboya.
Earlier before the blessing and dedication of the new outstation, the Apostolic nuncio to Ghana who was in the Diocese on a pastoral visit together with the Bishop of Damongo paid a courtesy call on the Wasipewura, Kabasagya Anyame mumuni II at his palace to interact and to thank him for offering the land on which the build their new Chapel.
