The MTN Ghana Foundation has opened nominations for the eighth season of its Heroes of Change initiative, calling on Ghanaians to nominate unsung individuals whose selfless service is making a lasting difference in their communities.
Nominations are open until October 19, 2026, with the public encouraged to nominate individuals whose work has demonstrated clear and sustainable impact in Education, Health, or Economic Empowerment.
Nominations can be submitted through the MTN Ghana website or at any MTN Service Centre across the country.
The initiative seeks to celebrate ordinary Ghanaians who are driving extraordinary change through commitment, compassion and community service.
The overall winner will receive GH¢400,000, while each of the three category winners will receive GH¢200,000 to support and scale up their initiatives.
In addition, nominators of the 10 finalists will receive special rewards, while outstanding contributions in Sustainability and Digital Innovation will also be recognised.
According to Adwoa Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer of MTN Ghana, the Heroes of Change programme was established to recognise individuals whose quiet acts of service are transforming lives without seeking recognition or reward.
“Heroes of Change celebrates people who serve their communities without seeking recognition or reward. Through Season 8, we want to identify and support more of these remarkable individuals whose work is creating sustainable impact and inspiring others,” she said.
She noted that the 2026 edition forms part of MTN Ghana’s 30th anniversary celebrations and reflects the company’s “Force for Good” philosophy, which seeks to leverage its resources, partnerships and platforms to create meaningful social impact and contribute to national development.
Over the years, the Heroes of Change initiative has provided recognition, visibility and financial support to Ghanaians tackling pressing social challenges. The support has enabled beneficiaries to deepen and expand their work in communities across the country.
The MTN Ghana Foundation is therefore urging the public to identify and nominate individuals whose dedication and service are creating sustainable change and improving the lives of others.
