By Abdulai Zulkaninu

The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, has presented two hundred Ghana cedis (GH¢200,000) to support the establishment of a Bole College of Education.
The MP also announced an initiative to establish one million Ghana cedis education fund (GH¢1000,000) to help improve Education from his personal savings. This fund sims to cushion brilliant but needy students in the constituency, irrespective of political affiliation.

Education is a pillar in Ghana’s 69 years journey and its transformative power cannot be undermined.

Hon Yusif made the presentation during the 69th Independence Day celebration held on March 6, 2026, in Bole.

Hon Yusif highlighted other positive interventions executed in the education sector to improve learning in the Bole-Bamboi Constituency.

He said “more than 4,000 chairs and 4,000 tables have recently been distributed to schools across the district, with Bole Senior High School alone receiving over 2,000 chairs and 2,000 tables.

“Bole Senior High School will receive boys and girls dormitories storey facilities, computer laboratory, renovation of existing facilities, a modern assembly hall, and a four-unit teachers’ accommodation ( 16 accommodation for staff)”.

Hon. Yusif disclosed that Mamums Construction firm has received contract letters to start construction of the STEM facility in Tinga. President John Dramani Mahama is expected to cut sod for the STEM facility soon alongside the construction of the College of Education in Bole.

To boost talent development he announced initiatives to construct Astro Turfs in Tinga, Bamboi, Banda Nkwanta, and final phase of the Bole Astro Turf.

The MP further supported the Bole Under-13 team that will represent the Savannah Region in the Milo Games in Techiman with GH¢50,000.

The MP commended traditional and religious leaders, women and youth groups and the constituents for the support and prayers and promised more execution in the coming years.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bole Abdulai Mahmud on his part, called for stronger cooperation and hope to help improve growth and development of Bole district.
Speaking during Ghana’s 69th Independence Anniversary which was celebrated under the theme: “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope”

He noted that this year’s theme speaks directly to the aspirations of our nation at this important time in our history
Building prosperity means creating opportunities for all. It means strengthening agriculture, empowering our youth, supporting local businesses, investing in education, improving healthcare, and ensuring that development reaches every community from Bole to the most remote villages in our district.

In Bole District, we recognize that agriculture remains the backbone of our economy. The government continues to support farmers with improved seeds, extension services, and policies that promote local production.
“When we grow what we eat and process what we produce, we build wealth within our communities and secure our future. This Explains why food commodities in the district are on record the lowest”.

Prosperity also requires investment in our youth. Our young people are not just leaders of tomorrow; they are partners in development today. Through skills training, entrepreneurship support, and educational reforms, we are equipping them with the tools to innovate, create jobs, and contribute meaningfully to national growth. On this I urge fellow constituents to take full advantage of the NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP and the ADWUMAWURA programs

He added restoring hope means rebuilding confidence in our collective future. It means assuring every Ghanaian that despite challenges, our nation remains strong, resilient, and united.
Hope is restored when roads are constructed, schools are improved, water systems are expanded, and security is strengthened. As a district, we remain committed to peace and unity. Development cannot thrive without stability. I commend our traditional authorities, religious leaders, youth groups, and security agencies for their continuous efforts in maintaining harmony within Bole.

The GES Director for Bole district Richard Sepaga Achinani noted that the theme, “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope,” calls on all of us to reflect deeply on our role in shaping the future of our district and our nation. Prosperity is built when we invest in human capital. Hope is restored when our young people are given opportunities to excel. And education remains the strongest foundation upon which both prosperity and hope stand, and this can only materialize where there is peace. So let’s strive for a peaceful environment where the human capital can effectively and efficiently be developed through education”

Students who excelled in various levels of examinations were honored; best-performed students in the 2025 BECE and WASSCE examinations. These young achievers have demonstrated discipline, determination, and academic excellence.

Independence reminds us that freedom was earned through sacrifice. Prosperity will also be earned through education, integrity, innovation, and unity of purpose. Let us, therefore, commit ourselves to raising standards, encouraging excellence, supporting struggling schools, and ensuring that no child in our district is left behind, he emphasized.

The program was chaired by H.E Tingawura Abudu Sampson, a Council of State Member and a sub-chief from Tinga traditional area under the Bole Traditional Council.
