The President of Maranatha College of Theology in Techiman, the Bono East Regional capital, Dr Stephen Sawiri said there were scores of false prophets and teachers in the Christian circles today because of laziness and impatient of church attenders.

Dr Sawiri noted that most people attended church with the sole aim of getting solutions to life challenges which confronted them and that when the miracles delayed, they would run to different churches for quick solution.

” when they roam from one church to the other, they will end up been harassed, assaulted, duped and sexually abused by these self acclaimed prophets and teachers thereby compounding their problems” he indicated.

Dr Sawiri presented an address on Saturday at the 3rd and 4th graduation, 5th matriculation and 2nd ordination service of Chapters of Destiny Bible College in Nkoranza on the theme, “maintaining what has been obtained”.

Dr Sawiri who doubled as the Coordinator of Maranatha Christian Church in West Africa, encouraged the graduates to share the word of God with people in the hinterlands and hard – to – reach communities.

The Principal of Chapters of Destiny Bible College (CDBC), Pastor Bright Adu Boahen, said 25 students were graduated, 20 matriculated and two ordained adding that 46 students had graduated since the establishment of the college in 2017.

Pastor Boahen disclosed that the students learnt subjects namely, hermeneutics, christology, soteriology, pneumatology, ecclesiology, eschatology, theodicy, Christian apologetics and leadership and fellowship and that the graduates were awarded with diploma in theology.

He said it was the mission of the college to train believers and established them in the truth of God’s word and to enable pastors, lay preachers, church workers and every believer to rightly teach the word of God.

Pastor Gilbert Tweneboah, the President of the Students Representative Council (SRC) was worried that the college had no accommodation for students and staff and also lack of bus to aid the movement of students and staff.

He thanked the Board Chairman of the college, Rev Peprah Twumasi, the principal, lecturers and other stakeholders for supporting the activities of the college.

The Chairman of the ceremony, Mr Adu Opoku congratulated the leadership of the college for training pastors on full scholarship and that he appealed to all and sundry to support the course of the college.

Mr Opoku advised the graduates to live life wealthy of emulation that depicted a pastor saying that ” leaders today will become leaders tomorrow, but only committed learners can become great leaders”.
