The Catholic Bishop of Damongo, Most Rev. Peter Paul Yelezuome Angkyier has administered the sacrament of confirmation on sixty-five (65) parishioners of the Martyrs of Uganda parish in the Bole district of the Savannah region.
The sacrament of confirmation is a foundational rite of initiation for Catholics after receiving the sacrament of baptism and First communion.
Rev. Fr. Fulgence Dongkore on behalf of the parish priest Very Rev. Fr. Martin Muosayir welcomed the bishop and also thanked him for accepting to grace the celebration despite his busy schedules.
In his sermon, Most Rev. Angkyier charged the newly confirmed and by extension all Christians to embark on a journey of faith, and let that faith manifest through their lives.
He challenged them to strive to break with the past years of hatred, violence, grudges, envy, cheating, drunkenness, corruption, jealousy and the like.
A couple: Mr George Bemilekuu and his wife Madam Juliana Bemilekuu who have lived and worked for the Parrish two (2) years after its establishment in 1965 also used the occasion to renew their marital vows after being together as husband and wife for fourty (40) years.
The bishop blessed them and presented to them a Holy Bible for their spiritual journey of faith.
