The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Yussif Sulemana, has cut the sod for the construction of key infrastructural projects at Bole Senior High School, aimed at strengthening teaching and learning while improving student welfare.
The projects include the construction of a new Home Economics (Home Science) block, an additional sick bay facility, renovation of the school’s administration block, and the building of teachers’ bungalows.
Speaking at a brief ceremony on campus, Alhaji Yussif Sulemana explained that the increasing student population at the school makes it necessary to expand and upgrade existing facilities to support academic excellence and student wellbeing.

According to him, the new Home Economics block will significantly enhance practical teaching and learning, while the expanded sick bay will help meet the growing healthcare needs of students.
“We believe the school has reached a stage where it requires improved facilities to enhance effective teaching and learning, particularly in Home Economics. The existing sick bay is also inadequate considering the rising number of students,” he stated.
The MP further indicated that the administration block, which has served the school for many years, will undergo renovation to improve its condition.
The construction of teachers’ bungalows, he added, will help address accommodation challenges faced by staff.

Alhaji Yussif Sulemana disclosed that the contract has been awarded to Kamagtey Royal Limited, a local contractor, following a careful assessment of the company’s capacity and experience. He, however, cautioned against substandard work and stressed that the projects would be closely monitored to ensure quality delivery.
“I will not accept shoddy work. Any contractor who fails to meet the required standards will have the contract revoked and reassigned to a competent firm,” he warned.
He called for strong collaboration between the contractor and school authorities to guarantee the successful execution of the projects, describing the initiative as part of his broader commitment to leaving a lasting legacy in the constituency.
The MP also expressed appreciation to teachers for their dedication, noting that as a trained teacher himself, he remains passionate about education and hopes to return to the classroom in the future.
The Bole District Chief Executive, Abdulai Mahmud, commended the MP for prioritizing education and assured that the District Assembly would work with relevant stakeholders to monitor the projects to ensure value for money.
On behalf of the school, the Assistant Headmaster in charge of Administration, Mr. Abubakari Habib, expressed gratitude to the MP for the intervention. He assured that the school management would collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure the projects are well maintained for the benefit of current and future generations.
“We will play our part to ensure that once these projects are completed, they are properly maintained for generations yet unborn,” he assured.
Some students who spoke to the media thanked the MP and the government for the initiative.
