The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the West Gonja Municipal Assembly, Hon. Yakubu Yussif Castro, has embarked on a familiarization tour within the municipality, beginning with visits to key security service offices in Damongo.

The tour, which commenced on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, is part of Hon. Castro’s efforts to officially introduce himself to stakeholders in the security sector and to strengthen collaboration for the development of the municipality.

During the first day of his tour, the MCE met with officials from the Ghana Immigration Service, the Ghana National Fire Service, the Ambulance Service, and the Ghana Police Service. The engagements were aimed at building relationships and gaining firsthand insights into the operations and challenges of the various agencies.

Hon. Castro highlighted the critical role security services play in maintaining peace and order, which he said is a prerequisite for development. He also used the opportunity to rally support for key government initiatives, including the 24-Hour Economy and the Feed Ghana programs. He urged the agencies to actively support and align with these policies to ensure their success at the local level.

The familiarization tour is expected to continue in the coming days with visits to other departments and institutions within the municipality.
