Tensions continue to rise in the Gbiniyiri community and it’s surroundings within the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District as the longstanding land dispute escalated into violence, tragically claiming the lives of six individuals last night at Chenchire, a community near Mandari in the Bole District.
In response to the worsening situation, a high-level investigative committee has been established to probe the root causes and ongoing developments surrounding the dispute. The committee, which will operate from Sawla, is expected to work closely with local stakeholders, traditional leaders, and security agencies to bring lasting resolution to the conflict.

The team is being led by the Regional Crime Officer, ASP Mr. Quaye, who will coordinate the investigative efforts.
Chief Inspector Grace Odurowaa Boateng, the Public Relations Officer for the Savannah Regional Police Command, confirmed the formation of the committee earlier today and assured the public that the police are committed to restoring peace and order in the affected area.
The authorities are urging residents to remain calm and cooperate fully with the investigation.
This is a developing story. More updates will be provided as information becomes available.
