A Reference Group member and traditional leader of Sori No.1, Chief Dizoya has called on the Community Youth Task Team (CYTT) of Sori no.1 to devote their time towards localizing sustainable development goals project being undertaken by Damongo based community radio, PADFM, a proud member of Ghana Community Radio stations. He further stated the CYTT members should be committed, patient and remain united in working together as a team.
Chief Dizoya made this call on Thursday, 4th August, 2021, when PADFM station facilitators invited him to the meeting in Sori No.1 in the West Gonja municipality of the Savannah region.
He reiterated that CYTT members should not disappoint the community and their colleague youths who selected them on their behalf and commended the youth and the community for the unity and love they have exhibited in working together. Saying this project is as results of their previous track record of working as a team for a common goal that has led to the selection of this community.
Chief Dizoya stressed on the team to be united and devote much time to the work and stated that CYTT members should not think about what they will gain as individuals but what the community stands to benefit in the end.
He admitted that though this is a farming season, CYTT members should not abandon the project whilst concentrating on their farms.
He used the opportunity to thank the PADFM and the Reference Group members for selecting Sori No.1 among the numerous communities in the municipality
As part of GCRN -SDGs, Anchoring a civil society model towards localizing the SDGs project, PADFM in Damongo, Savannah Regional capital of Ghana, had its third Community Youth Task Team (CYTT) capacity building workshop on the 4th August, 2022 in sori community which was chosen in collaboration with the reference Group members on 10th June, 2022 in accordance with the work plan.
Ghana Community Radio Network (GCRN) seeks to empower communities across Ghana in 24 community radio stations coverage areas that are at the fore- front of their own development and must be able to interpret, prioritize and the take action regarding their burning SDGs with the core SDGs objective “Leave No One Behind”.
GCRN objectives of the project is to Mobilize and engage our partners’ direct target groups (youth) by enabling them to create and take ownership of localizing the SDGs through grassroots activities, Facilitate the building of synergies, good practices and success stories about localizing the SDGs through a collaborative platform, Lobby and advocate for more supportive policy frameworks that will ensure longer term entrenchment of the various SDGs targets at grassroot levels.
