The MTN Ghana Foundation has announced a significant investment of GHS1.2 million to support smallholder women farmers and unemployed youth through a transformative modern farming initiative. The program aims to boost agricultural productivity while equipping beneficiaries with practical skills to improve their livelihoods.
According to the Foundation, the initiative will focus on introducing innovative farming techniques, providing access to resources, and offering hands-on training to participants. This effort is expected to not only increase food production but also create sustainable employment opportunities for young people.
Smallholder women farmers, who play a vital role in Ghana’s agricultural sector, will receive targeted support to enhance their output and income levels. At the same time, unemployed youth will be trained in modern agricultural practices, positioning them to take advantage of emerging opportunities within the sector.
The MTN Ghana Foundation emphasized that the initiative aligns with its broader commitment to community development and economic empowerment. By investing in agriculture and skills development, the Foundation hopes to contribute meaningfully to poverty reduction and food security in the country.
Stakeholders have been encouraged to support the initiative as it seeks to make a lasting impact on vulnerable communities across Ghana.
